The Scooby Snax Band is a high energy, four-piece cover band, whose showmanship, talent, and virtuoso are what set them apart from all the rest. Their musical diversity is made evident by their extensive song list, which spans six decades. Each member can sing lead vocals, which allows the band to adapt to every song style.
Founded in 1993, by
longtime friends Jay Buckley and Will Motroni, The Scooby Snax
Band has become one of the finest cover bands on the Boston club
scene. Through the late 1980's and early 1990's, Jay and Will
performed together in various bands, playing original music, as
well as cover songs. During that time they played in some of
Boston's hottest music clubs, including The Paradise, The
Channel, The Rack, The Harp,
The Purple Shamrock, and The Green Dragon. Through it all, Jay
and Will stuck to a pretty simple plan - play the music that
people want to hear, play it well, and have fun doing it!
After four years of playing as a duo, The Scooby Snax decided to expand the line up and asked drummer Jack Shea to join the band. At the time, Will was working with Jack in another popular cover band and knew his hard playing and his twenty years experience would be a perfect addition.
As the band continued to grow in popularity, The Scooby Snax decided to add a lead guitarist. Finding a guitarist with a similar range of musical talent and possessing the same vision was not going to be an easy task. The Snax decided to bring in Rich Dacier into the band to fill the void. Rich had a musical history of eight years with the band and possessed the versatility and coherence the band was looking for. The Scooby Snax Band was now complete.
In late 2006, the band added Alison Ethington, a 2003 Berklee School of Music graduate, on board to take the band to a new level. 2007 offers us and our clients new opportunities, a greater music catalogue, and a renewed commitment. The Scooby Snax Band are a professional team of outstanding musicians with a love for great music.
We strive on playing songs exactly as they were recorded, leading to fun, energetic performances that are guaranteed to generate a good time for all ages!
